Heather HarpRecreation Consultant at Play & Park Structures
Heather has lived in Choctaw, Oklahoma for over twenty years and is passionate about the people and characteristics that make Oklahoma such a great place to live. She feels that a well-integrated parks system contributes to a community’s quality of life at every scale. Additionally, she is a believer in the capacity of parks to promote holistic health, encourage sustainability, foster arts, and culture, and generate happiness, all while offering an incredible return on investment.
Her passion for the people of Oklahoma drives her to provide excellent service in the playground industry not only to municipalities, but also to schools, churches, daycares, and anyone in need of a commercial play space.
Heather has a special place in her heart for inclusive play and inclusive playground design. Her background in early childhood education and children’s ministry gives her a unique perspective on play and playground design, and she finds it important to educate people in ways to create play spaces where children of all abilities can play together!
>Heather spent 10+ years working in Children’s Ministry as a Director of Ministry, Children Development Center, and Mother’s Day Out. She understands that the growth of a church starts with the Children’s Ministry. During her time as a Children’s Director, she became a leader of leaders by equipping and training volunteers and staff. It was part of her mission to delegate and create a strong Children’s Ministry Team! From working in and with churches with limited financial resources, she found ways to still be highly effective through creativity and thinking outside of the box. She found ways to involve parents, creating an environment of FAMILY and using her team to minister to the WHOLE family. Often Children’s Pastors and Children’s Ministry Departments are the most underfunded parts of churches even though they are the most vital! Today, Heather is blessed by continuing to work with Children’s Ministers all over Oklahoma and Arkansas. She understands the importance of attracting families and she knows how to make families TAKE A LOOK at your church!!
