Enhancing Church Safety and Security Through Practical Training

Taught by Simon Osamoh and Eric Williams

Join us for this essential 4-hour workshop designed specifically for church safety and security leaders. This interactive session is tailored to empower you with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively safeguard your house of worship. The workshop combines expert-led training with hands-on exercises that are critical in today’s ever-changing security landscape.

Part One of the workshop delves into the foundations of emergency planning. You’ll learn how to draft comprehensive emergency plans, set realistic testing schedules, and implement them effectively. Our expert facilitators will guide you through a dynamic tabletop exercise, where you’ll tackle a simulated emergency, make crucial decisions, and strategize with peers to navigate complex challenges.

Part Two shifts focus to proactive threat assessment. Discover the latest techniques in identifying and mitigating potential threats before they escalate. You’ll learn how to set up and train a dedicated threat assessment team, develop behavior-based analysis skills, and lead your church to a safer future. Another engaging tabletop exercise will challenge you to apply these principles in a real-life context, assessing risk and responding decisively.

By the end of this workshop, attendees will not only have a robust emergency operations plan but also the confidence to lead their church through potential crises. Whether you’re looking to refine your existing plans or build a new foundation in church safety, this workshop is your step towards creating a secure and prepared community.
